My Favorite Parts of Social Media and Whit Reasons
After social media a lot of things changed in our live and at the same time a lot of good things have developed. Now, I am going to share my opinions about some parts of social media which I liked most.
In Terms of Marketing Usability of Social Media
Social Media in other words Internet Marketing (the name has changed with a good reason) is still already a big part of the Internet culture. Some people use social media for business purposes, to network and find new opportunities. Then there are others who use social networking sites for pure personal reasons and it is oblivious to the fact that there is a business presence in the social networking environment at all. It is wonderful to see that there are so many different things going on in one area. Even more interesting that they seem to all work in balance. All of them have different usage area. My favorites tools in terms of marketing; Twitter, Facebook and Youtube, Vimeo (for both share video and photo)
In Term of the Social use, Social Media
A natural need for people to get news. People always wants to know what is going on in the world. To solve these needs and have developed some media. First newspapers and afterwards radio and TV were involved to our life. At last, computer has been produced. Thanks to developing technologies, now can we follow what's new in the world easily. In terms of the social use, here are my favorites tools:
· Facebook: Provides the ability to communicate with our friends. Thanks to Facebook, we can organize activities and share with other friends.
· Twitter: Thanks to Twitter, we can publish our instant messages and follow rest of the world and get summarize of recent news with just 140 characters.
· Wiki: The virtual source of information, dictionary and encyclopedia. We can both share and learn a lots of things thanks to wiki.
· Blog: I call it as a online diary and love to use it. Blogs provide users to comment or news on any subject and there are many type of blogs terms of usage ,art blog, photo blog, video blogging, music-mp3 blog. Newest is microblogging, featuring very short posts. (Like Twitter, Facebook…)

Why Social Media is Social? And for Whom?
For People
After the development of internet, social media has been included in our lifes. During this development, people make lots of innovations. Human is a social existence . For this reason, people always want to communicate with each other and that's why they have needed to develop some tools to better communicate since beginning of humanity. Why social media is social? Because, all the tools of social media exist for one significant reason; to connect in better conditionals. Thanks to social media, we can find plenty of friends from our childhood, primary or high school, university environment or friends who are not have possibility of having meet and chat. Every people has just twenty four hours in a day and they should make a lot of things during in a day. For example,going work, household chores, care about children, gardens...etc.
And as they have a lot of work, people can not spend enough time with their friends. But after social media, it is much more easier to communicate with them.While many of the tasks happen, we can keep in touch with our friends. So, social media provides the ability to communicate. This is one of the things that makes social media social.
For Communities
Social media is not just for friends to communicate with each other. At the same time allows us to get what's going on in the world. This is another element that makes social media social. A lot of things happening at the same time in the world. Some of them good, some bad but we can learn all these things that through social media. Before social media, we lived in the same world but we weren't aware of know each other,different cultures, foreing trends... We could not know what is going on their world exactly. Now, the world became smaller. In this way, can get news about what is happening all over the world. And this is another big reason that why social media is social.
For Marketing
There is another purpose of social media: Marketing. Thus, companies are able to add a lot of people to their online network. And also companies are paying less money for it. In fact, sometimes not pay any money. Actually, that the really beautiful thing for companies; receive feedback from customers. In this way, social media can benefit from the social part. Social media at the same time benefical for customers too. Thanks to social media, customers can communicate directly with companies. Of course, not only companies, individuals can use social media to work. For example, amateur artists, publish their own online video clips on youtube or a job seekers publish his or her own CV video on blogsite to find work.
Social media is social, but for whom?
There is not a specific target audience of social media. Everybody can use social media and can do something in here. There are lots of people interested in social medİa to be social to be populer, famous, to keep in touch... However, a computer and internet connection are sufficient for everyone to use and benefit from social media.

What did i learn Online Video and Social Media?
First day of this course, we tried to find answers these questions. For example; What is social media? What is Online Video? What does social media consist of? How did social media occurred? What is web 2.0? What is web 3.0? What is the difference between web 2.0 and web 3.0? What are the characteristics of technologies currently used in? Can we create for our own area?
We talked about these important points about social media technologies. After web 2.0, even standard users can create own blogs and they can publish those things. Also after web 2.0 we can follow the other people blogs. Blogging and sources of news have increased in a short time. Following blogs and news became more difficult and some software’s have developed software to make it easier. We learnt these kind of software’s in this course too. Also, we must have a blog .But having just blog page is not enough ofcourse. We must use the other social media instruments to online publish. For example: Flick (share your photos and videos), youtube and vimeo (share you videos), facebook, twitter, delicious… and the like. We should have accounts on these social media instruments and with this way we must integrate those with our blog. We talked about these social media instruments in lesson. We created new accounts and we learnt how can we use these. Also we learnt how to prepare online videos and how to edit, compress and publish.
As a Result
All in all in this course we prepared 4 different online video. We made new blog for online publishing and how to follow the other blogs and news sources.

What does online video mean for me and in which way do people use it

Throught the centuries peope have being showed their performing to others. Look at bullfighters,matadors, gladyators…Now ? There is no change. Everyday more than million videos are uploading to internet and most of them has same aim “Show yourself”.
Online Videos Have Many Different Purpose
Tutorial, movie, short movie, commercial, funny moments from life, documentery, news,porn, tv serial…etc. As you can guess rate of funny ones are really high. People who is interested in social media, almost all use online video as a uploader or beholder.
Why Do We Watch?
There are several ways to learn something new. Generally we prefer the easiet one. Because learning also both exciting and tiring activity. Why dont we choose simple way. Let’s look up;
Listening: Since the childhood we have been using this technique. When we were baby, we listened others and learnt and begin to imitate them.
Reading : Remember first days in primery school all of us were using this technique to learn new different information.
Experience : It is the not only most efficient but also ruthless way to learn. You will never forget experiences that you lived.
Watching: We love watching! Footbal matches, theatre, movie , documentery… Why ? Because it is easiest way to learn. Just hold open your eyes and mind and enjoy being receiver.
Which one is more permanent listening ,reading, experience and watching.It is argumentative. But nowadays everbody; young, adult, well educated and aneducated everybody prefer watching. Some of them to save time , some of them can understand only with watching because of illiteracy….I can count more and more reasons.
Why Online?
I want to explain this question as a stutent of advertising.
Think like advertiser: You can not imagine who are watching tv at that time , you can just guess owing surveys and researches. But Online video is different magic. Because audience find you. He or she click your videos and you know how old is he/she and what he/she likes… You dont have to make survey and researches. Features of your target group has already prepared and served for you. Thanks to facebook,myspace,twittre we can see who is interested in what. I think it is very very important fort he future of advertising and journalism. First of all radio will die and tv become less popular and online video age will survive for a long long time.
